San Diego Psychiatric Center San Diego Psychiatric Center
10 offices in San Diego County,

A partial list of the journals routinely reviewed includes:

American Journal of Psychiatry
Archives of General Psychiatry
Biological Psychiatry
Journal of Affective Disorders
American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry
Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
British Journal of Psychiatry

Members of the club are assigned papers for which they serve as discussants at monthly meetings around dinner. Typically, 8-12 papers are reviewed at each session. The discussions and exchange of ideas stress the usefulness and applicability of the newly gained information to day-to-day patient care.

* Since 1998 these educational activities are fully approved for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. Since September 1999, they are also approved for Continuing Education Units (CEU) for L.C.S.W.'s and M.F.T.'s.

Psychiatry is a rapidly evolving field of medicine. The last 30 years have seen dramatic progress in the areas of diagnosis, medication treatment, and psychotherapy techniques. PCSD understands that in order to be able to provide cutting edge treatment for our patients, it is essential that our clinicians have access to current advances in the field. To this end, PCSD has a busy lecture schedule designed to meet our continuing education needs. Invited speakers are leaders in their areas of expertise and most have direct research experience through their academic work at major US universities.
